Director, writer and producer Lawrence Trilling has been at the forefront of some of the most watched film and television series over the last two decades. Most recently he has helmed Amazon’s hybrid sci-fi western Outer Range starring Josh Brolin.
Trilling directed 22 episodes and served as the showrunner for David E Kelley’s acclaimed Amazon series Goliath which garnered Billy Bob Thornton the Golden Globe for Best Actor. The most recent season saw the addition of J.K. Simmons to the cast and reached the rare 100% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Other recent directing credits include Marvel’s Agent Carter, Netflix’s The Get Down and FX’s Snowfall as well as the network hits Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Parenthood, Pushing Daisies, Alias and Scrubs. Over the years, he has worked with an extensive list of celebrities including Bradley Cooper, Michael B. Jordan, Elisabeth Moss, Josh Brolin, Billy Bob Thornton, J.K. Trilling is loyal to both coasts and all states in between. He was born in New Jersey but spent most of his childhood in California. He headed back to the East Coast to attend Columbia University where he graduated with a degree in English Literature and later earned an MFA from UCLA. Trilling lives in Los Angeles with his wife, their three children, and Clyde, their devoted Labradoodle, who makes friends wherever they go.
